Dear Mrs. Anderson -
You might write to Mr. Arthur Eddy[4] - Morleys Hotel, Trafalgar Square - and say: that having enquired, you find that the "Blue Bonnet"[5] was bought by [p. 2] Mr. Heinemann[6] - of Bedford Street - the publisher -
Also that you will have the "Philosopher"[7], small panel, and the other head of girl called "Petite Souris"[8], from the "International"[9] -
Say that the price of these heads by Mr Whistler are all about 600 - but that he has himself since written, wishing that special comission should be made to Mr. Eddy if he cared to happens to wish for anything -
Wherefore if Mr. Eddy would call again you would be able to talk to him and impart any proposal he might wish, to the Company -
Then you could say that the little Philosopher, might go to him for £280 - though the price is 300 gs -
The "Red Feather"[10], he could have might make a proposal for -
or the Petite Souris -
[p. 3][11] [...] picture from the "International" [...] be at the Studio today tomorrow - & you could talk over the "Souris" and "Philosop[h]er" -
Very truly Yrs
J McN Whistler
