All right about the paper -
About the exhibition[3] I have come to the conclusion that we will arrange for next year - Therefore prepare your proposals as you said you would and every thing can be nicely settled beforehand -
About the French etchings[4], I will send them shortly -
About the F. A. S. Venetian etchings[5] I believe they will come out far more beautifully than ever!
I am making of them wonderful new states!!
As to cutting - amazing!

Ernest George Brown (1853 or 1854-1915), assistant manager at the Fine Art Society [more]. There are several later copies of this letter (#01200, #02731, #03076).

JW did not have another exhibition at the Fine Art Society at this time, although it is mentioned in several letters.
4. French etchings
'Renaissance set', 1888 (K.368-402) (excat 9).
5. F. A. S. Venetian etchings
Mr Whistler's Etchings of Venice, 1880 (the first 'Venice Set') (K. 183-189, 191-195). (excat 5). The F.A.S. wanted JW to print the etchings, but he continually revised them, thus slowing down the completion of the edition.
