Dear Sir

I am delighted to hear that you intend to arrange a banquet[3] to be given to Mr. J. Mc. [sic] Whistler - As a very old friend and very great admirer of his - I shall be very glad of having the privilege of adding my name to your Committee list - but you will I hope excuse me [p. 2] from being an active member as I am not only convinced that I should be useless in that capacity - but as I have so very little time that I could not give the attention [with?] which this occasion deserves to it -

I am Dear Sir
yours very truly

J. E Boehm

Peter Macnab Esqre
