Dear Sir
We have seen Mr Whistler & ascertained what he desires & we have written one of our clients as to the amount.
We should like to know whether the building contract[3] is signed & who are the builders. One of the things to be guarded against in an advance of this kind is, the non-completion of the works. Could a guarantee be obtained for their completion?
We note the stages of the advance mentioned in your memorandum as 70% on the value of the work done. As you have prepared the plans we suppose you can state specifically what this sum at each stage would be. We have retained the plans for the present. Will you require them again?
Do you know if there is any policy on the life of Mr Whistler?
