My dear Tom.

Just a line in great haste to tell you that I am delighted with the proofs[4] - I dont want anything done to them - They are most delicate and beautifully printed - The stump skies I think charming - and quite enough - There is a delightful velvety quality about them - and I just want you at once to print out all the paper I have sent with these proofs - divided among them -

I don't know what you mean by finding the paper dreadfully stained - I like it - and it is so nice of you to send me the proofs already pressed & flat - It makes all the difference - Do so always, and by the way do press out beautifully the coloured proof[5] I sent you & then you will see the value of the three colours and that it[6] does not want more -

I shall soon send you new things -

The proofs were The Marketplace, Vitré (C.62), Vitré: The Canal (C.63), Gabled Roofs (C.64) and The Clock-Makers, Paimpol (C.65). Proofs of The Fireplace (C.61), which JW had asked Way to destroy, may also have been included.

Possibly Red House, Paimpol (C.66).
