TO THE EDITOR OF THE HERALD.

Sir, -

A paragraph having gone the round of to-day's papers to the effect that I have "taken away all my works from the forthcoming Paris Exhibition," I beg you will allow me, through your columns, to correct this misleading assertion, which can be founded only upon my having transported my work from the American department to that of the British section of the Exposition Internationale[4] - where I prefer to be represented.

J. McNEILL WHISTLER.

Chelsea,

April 26.
