GUSTAV LAUSER[3],
BOOK & PRINTSELLER.
25, GARRICK STREET,
LONDON, W. C.
9. July 1901.
Dear Mr Kennedy:
Only a few lines to say that Mr James McN. Whistler called here to-day & to ask how you are; he says that he has written to you & received no answer. Why?
I told him that I would write to you & acquaint you of the purpose of his visit.
Business is absolutely dead, the last sale at Christie's[4] will take place next Thursday & the catalogue reads very well in the way of Reynolds[5], &c.
[p. 2] Hoping you are getting on well I am with best regards
Yours very sincerely
A. Roth
