Dear Mr. Whistler

Some months since we wrote reminding you of the two Pastels[2] which you had received from us on account of the late Mr. Hutchinson[3] and which you kindly promised to retouch

As a Sale[4] of this [p. 2] Gentleman's Pictures &c. is almost immediately to take place we shall be glad (unless you have already returned them to Mrs. Hutchinson[5]) to receive them here - as we have the frames ready

If inconvenient for you to forward the pictures we will with pleasure send for them

We remain
Yours very truly

[stamped:] FOR DOWDESWELL & DOWDESWELLS LIMD.
