1. Edward William Godwin
Edward William Godwin (1833-1886), architect and designer [more] of the White House (see note below). This account is in Godwin's handwriting.
2. Mr Nightingales Claim
Benjamin Ebenezer Nightingale (b. 1838), builder [more]. This relates to the White House, JW's studio house at Tite Street, for which Nightingale was the building contractor. JW moved into the White House in late July 1878 (see JW to S. Morse #10876, #10873). However, many of his accounts were still outstanding, including that of Nightingale.
