My dear Pennell -
I introduce to you my friend Monsieur Oulevay[3] - a man of most distinguished talent - You must help him in becoming acquainted with all that concerns the Arts & Crafts of the place - and especially in the matter of tapestries in which he is not only interested, but in which [p. 2] he ought to find relations that might induce him to remain in England -
In short my dear Joseph I want you for me to kindly do all you can to present him to the Briton under the very best auspices -
Always with kindest regards to both[4] of you
J McN Whistler
