Dear Mr. Whistler,

I have received the lithographs, th^ey are charming.

I send a paper with a comment by Cortissoz^[3], a very intelligent young chap, who may call upon you some day. "The times are out of joint". Business yet dull. The fact is, that after $900,000,000.00 has been wiped out, it will take time to recover. Will you kindly put on a roller^[4] and send by post not registered:

2 liths. of the house in yellow & Green
1    "        "     "     red & black
1      "    "     "  " with the doorway

where you look through a long way & children playing in front. You did [p. 2] not send a memo, but 2 / 2 / - each less half off is about right I suppose. It makes no difference as to the locality of the places artistically, but some people ask "Where is this house?"
