My dear Jemmy
I have been so busy lately with the ship, that I have put off from day to day answering about your pictures, I now write to say that I am not collecting pictures to any extent, and in the unsettled state in which I am living, would not know what disposition to make of so many pictures if I had them, some time on, when I have a little more leisure, I will select one of the sea pieces, which pleases me the most, and in the mean time send you a check for £200-0-0 as a loan from which the picture that I select may be deducted, Please acknowledge rec[ei]pt if satisfactory,
Yours vy truly
