George John Vulliamy (1817-1886), Superintending Architect with the Metropolitan Board of Works, London [more]. The Metropolitan Board of Works were slow in giving JW planning permission for his new house, the White House on Tite Street, and withheld the lease until alterations were made to the facade. Payment for building costs was dependent on their certificate (see contract, #08927).
