Dear Mr Whistler,
We send you herewith a cheque for the two sets of Lithographs already sent £12- 10/- each £25 - –
We also want another set sent to us, but not in any immediate hurry. If you can hand them in to the Boulevard des [p. 2] Capucines please do so; but if you find it more convenient to send them by post perhaps after all that will be best.
Kindly note that we have a proof of the 'Horologerie[2]' sent in duplicate so that our present request is for a set less this one -

[p. 3] We have also sold separately one proof of coloured litho 'Yellow & green[3]', one of the uncoloured 'Fruit Market[4]' & the 'Roofs[5] of Houses beside Canal.' (Please pardon the titles for we have none) Will you kindly add these to the parcel & we shall account for them. They are sold to Furse[6] the young painter, & we trust it is right to sell them separately??
The other set is sold to Sir John Day[7] - the third we have complete & we order the other to balance the little bill standing[.] If you could sign in pencil with the [p. 4] Butterfly, or otherwise, these proofs it would help us greatly.
Having to put mounts on them back & front we find 15% very thin! If we buy 3 sets at a time could you [say?] 20%. This of course for the future, those ordered now, remain.
If you have any new subjects please add three of each to parcel.
Doubtless you know we could sell some of these to the trade, but they like ourselves will want a discount! And possibly you are just as well pleased to keep them quiet.
Under what conditions would you make us sole agents in Britain for them?
