London

26 Sept 1893.

Dear Mr Whistler,

We have still 16 signed series of the photographs[2] & as business is so very bad we do not wish to go to further expense at the present. We are in special communication with Paris & New York about them for the [p. 2] autumn season & we hope to get some good orders.

I was at Portsmouth & Southsea yesterday & now I begin to think of settling down after the holidays.

Dignam[3] spent the evening at my house the other night. He looks a little worried.

My mouth is closed at present about Burne Jones[4]

Yours vy truly

D. C. Thomson
