Sir,

In thanking you for your letter of the 9th instant, I am directed to inform you that the selection which you have been so good as to make of four etchings[2], therein described, with a view to their acquisition for the National Art Library of the South Kensington Museum, at the price of forty pounds (£40) is accepted, and an Order on Her Majesty's Paymaster General for payment of that sum will be sent to you in due course.

The remainder of the Collection which you have been kind enough to [p. 2] submit for inspection will be returned to your address.
