Dear Miss Flossie -

I have been ill in bed - and you must kindly undertake to make my peace with your Aunt[3] who is so good and charming as to remember me - I fear I am but poor sad company just now for a guest of hers and so shall not present myself at her table - say this with many thanks and sorrowful regrets

Very sincerely Yours

J A McN Whistler
