Dear Mr Huish -
That paragraph for the paper will never do! It looks as if for twenty years I had been labouring away at Lithographs! which Pennell[3] notwithstanding, is hardly the case!
So I am sending you something that might perhaps put a prettier colour upon it -
I sent you the piece of frame back yesterday with note upon it - - so thats all right! -
The list I shall send you directly -
Also here is the kind of invitation[4] for the [p. 2] Private View (enclosed) -
Hadn't you better get it properly copied & let us look at it? -
I think thats all for the moment - I was delighted to have Mr Brown[5] here - and only regretted that you had not come with him -

Marcus Bourne Huish (1843 - d.1921), barrister, writer and art dealer, Director of the Fine Art Society [more]. He was planning Mr Whistler's Lithographs, The Fine Art Society, London, 1895.
3. Pennell
Joseph Pennell (1860-1926), printer and illustrator, JW's biographer [more]. Pennell had written an introduction to the catalogue for JW's forthcoming exhibition Mr Whistler's Lithographs, The Fine Art Society, London, 1895.
