Mon cher Monsieur Whistler
Je m'empresse a [sic] vous envoyer le Compte de Monsieur Erneste[2] selon le désire que vous me témoignez dans votre honorée du 22 dernier aussi le compte de Monsieur de la Noix[3] Ce monte a la somme de 252 f 95 centime dont je vous donnerait un recu contre la remise de pareilles sommes pour le compte de Monsieur Erneste de la Noix ce sera un titre que vous pourez gardée afin de le faire valloir plutard si vous le jugée convenable car il pourait se faire que votre amitiez ne soit pas toujours la même: et que la possition de Mr Erneste change maintenant je vous dirait que je n'ait pas etée plus épatée de votre départ[4] de Paris que les autres fois. Car vous m'avez habituez a ces absences subito qui vous son toute particuliers, et si je me suit servie de cette expression c'etait pour rapeler un terme dont vous vous servez souvent avec nous. Voila pourquoi je me suit servie de ce mot et croyez bien qu'il ni a [p. 2] aucunes arrière pensée lors que je l'ait mis dans la lettre Vous pouvée me croire j'espere Mon cher Monsieur Whistler que ces explications vous sufirons et que vous ne m'en voudrez plus comme vous avez l[']air dans votre lettre et que nous resterons toujours bons amis comme toujours.
Maintenant vous ne me parlez pas si vous avez vue Monsieur Ridelay[5], et ce quil pence de la notes quil a laissée en quitant paris. Veuillez - je vous enprie lui en parler si vous ne l'avez deja fait et écrivez moi ce quil vous a repondu et ce quil pence faire pour son compte - ditte lui je vous enprie que sil voulait m'envoyer cela me fairait bien plaisire. Car j'en ait bien béssoins. si vous avez un peu d'influence sur lui ditte lui je vous enprie serieusement. je conte sur vous pour cela.
je doit vous dire aussi que le Cordonier de la Rue Racine vient toujour me tourmantée pour avoir votre adresse tantot pour un de vos amis tantot pour un autres enfin je nait pas voulut lui donner jusque a présent car je pence bien que vos amis savent bien votre adresse sans quil soit béssoins quil s'adresse au Cordonier. Vous me direz ce que je doit faire quand l'on reviendra. Vous ne me parlez pas non plus de votre compaigne[6] et si elle ce porte bien elle doit etre contante detre a londre Vous ne me dittes rien non plus [p. 3] de vos tableau vous avez sans doute oubliez de me donner ces detailles auquelle je m'interesse pour vous enfin mon Cher je vous serait tres obligée de vouloir bien me donner tous les petit détailles qui pourons me faire plaisir aussi que de lexpossion[7] [sic] que jespere bien aller voir au vacances sil ni a pas d'enpaichement
le Monsieur Anglais [8]qui venait souvant avec vous Celui qui a toujour un lorgnon vient quelquefois prendre ces repas a la maison - cest un bien charmant Garçon et que jestimes beaucoup. j'ai fait vos compliment a tout les messieurs il mont prier de ne pas les oublier lors que je vous écrirait. faite nos compliments a votre dame et recevez vous meme nos amitiers sincéres

Translation:
My dear Mr Whistler
I hasten to send you Mr Erneste's account according to the request which you made in your esteemed of the 22 ultimo, also Mr de la Noix's account this amounts to the sum of 252f 95 centimes for which I would give you a receipt against the remittance of such a sum for Mr Erneste de la Noix's account it will be a document which you will be able to keep in order to recoup the value later if you consider it appropriate because it could be that your friendship might not always be the same: and Mr Erneste's situation is now changing I would say that I was not more amazed at your departure from Paris than at the other times. Since you have inured me to these sudden absences which are particularly your style, and if I used that expression, it was to recall a term that you often use with us. That is why I used the word and believe me that there was no [p. 2] ulterior motive whatsoever when I put it in the letter You can believe I hope My dear Mr Whistler that this explanation will be enough for you and that you will not be annoyed with me any more as you appear to be from your letter and that we will remain as good friends as ever.
Now you do not say whether you have seen Mr Ridelay, and what he thinks of the notes of hand that he left on his departure from Paris. I beg you to be so kind as to speak to him about them if you have not already done so and write to tell me what he replied and what he plans to do to pay his account - tell him I beg you that if he wanted to send it to me it would give me great pleasure. As I have need of it. if you have some influence over him tell him I beg you that it is serious. I count on you for that.
I must also tell you that the Shoemaker in the rue Racine is always coming to pester me for your address either for one of your friends or another well I did not want to give it to him up until now because I believe that your friends know your address without it being necessary to give it to the Shoemaker. You must tell me what I should do when he comes again. You have also not told me about your companion and whether she is well she must be happy to be in London You have further told me nothing [p. 3] about your pictures I expect you have forgotten to give me these details which interest me for your sake my Dear sir I should be very much obliged if you would be so kind as to give me all the little details which could give me pleasure as well as the exhibition which I very much hope to see on holiday if there is no hindrance.
the English Gentleman who often came with you the One who always has a pince-nez sometimes comes to take his meals at the house - he is a really charming young Man and I have a high opinion of him. I have given your greetings to all the gentlemen they have asked me not to forget them when I write to you. give my compliments to your lady
