Dear Mrs Whistler
Will you & Mr Whistler accept my most grateful thanks for the charming Window you so kindly designed to my little daughters memory & which was dedicated on the 1st of March[.] [p. 2] it is so much admired by the Bishop & every one[.] The shading is exquisite and the faces so soft and lovely when the sun is shining it is something to remember[.] Words are quite inadequate to convey how we all appreciate this Work of Art. Hope that you & Mr Whistler will [p. 3] come to visit me and I will drive you to Orton[.] [I] am certain you will be pleased. The Chancellor thinks it a boon to the people in the neighborhood[;] no doubt it will be frequently visited by strangers from the Springs; again thanking you & [p. 4] trusting to welcome you to the Lake District
I remain with kindest regards to Mr Whistler & yourself
