The month and year were added in another hand. The date of this letter may have been the Friday before 7 January 1863, when Rossetti invited Ford Madox Brown (1821-1893), painter [more], and Charles Joseph Faulkner (1834-1892), civil engineer and mathematician, founder member of Morris, Marshall, Faulkner & Co. [more], to dinner, to discuss matters relating to that firm (see below).

6.  Deed of Partnership
The firm of Morris, Marshall, Faulkner and Co. It first opened for business on 11 April 1861 to produce painted furniture, stained glass, ceramics and other decorative items. The partners included Rossetti. Rose may have dealt with legal matters for the firm as he did for Rossetti.
