BY VIRTUE OF A WARRANT FROM THE SHERIFF OF THE COUNTY OF MIDDLESEX, TO ME DIRECTED, I SUMMON YOU TO BE AND APPEAR BEFORE HER MAJESTY'S JUDGES AND JUSTICES, AT THE CENTRAL CRIMINAL COURT, AT JUSTICE HALL, IN THE OLD BAILEY, IN THE SUBURBS OF THE CITY OF LONDON, ON MONDAY, THE 18 DAY OF August next AT HALF-PAST TEN OF THE CLOCK IN THE FORENOON PRECISELY, TO DO SUCH THINGS, WHICH ON THE PART OF OUR SOVEREIGN LADY THE QUEEN THEN AND THERE SHALL BE ENJOINED YOU. This document was kept by James Anderson Rose (1819-1890), solicitor [more]. When JW did not attend the court, a fine was imposed (H. Avory to JW, 18 August 1873, #11973). J. A. Rose wrote to JW on 23 August (#05223) regarding an affidavit explaining that JW was an American citizen (#12155), which was to be sent to Henry Avory (ca 1825-d. 1881), Clerk of the Central Criminal Court.
