Notes:

1.  [23 June 1884]
Dated from sale of etchings on 23 June [1884] (see below).

2.  Fine Art Society
The list includes a reference to sales of The Palaces (K.187) to Messrs Wunderlich through the Fine Art Society, which are also recorded in another receipt (on 23 June [1884], #13334).

3.  San Biagio
The etchings listed are San Biagio (K.197), San Giorgio (K.201), Ponte del Piovan (K.209), The Little Lagoon (K.186), Bead-Stringers (K.198); 'The Pool' is probably The Large Pool (K.174) (rather than The Pool (K.43) or The Little Pool (K.74)); Turkeys (K.199), Little Salute (K.220), and The Palaces (K.187), respectively. One of these (The Little Lagoon (K.186)) published by the FAS in Mr Whistler's Etchings of Venice, 1880 (the first 'Venice Set') (K. 183-189, 191-195). (excat 5). The others were exhibited in Mr Whistler's Etchings, The Fine Art Society, London, 1883, and most were published in A Set of twenty-six etchings of Venice, 1886 (the second 'Venice set') (K.196-216, 233-237). (excat 6). Little Salute (K.220) was never published and is rare.
