Dear Ingram,
I have just found Stott's letter[3] in the correspondence of the Court & Society Review - and remembering, that Salaman[4] said this morning that it was missing from his collection, I send it you - But you must read it in its place in due order with the others -
As to the Council[5] proposing that the paper in which they appeared is insignificant, that is all nonsense - In any case it seems ceases to be so by means of this this [sic] very discussion - You will find well known names signed to the letters on our side - distinguished men like E. W. Godwin[6] - and Whiteing[7], the London correspondent of the Daily News in Paris for years - and Stott -
Besides which it is the intention of the editor to publish the collected correspondence in the form of a pamphlet[8] - which will be pretty much all over the place -
When you have read it all, I fancy you will have a very different notion from that of the Council, as to its importance -
On Saturday morning -
