Tout s'est passé à souhait. Perrin[4] a du se rendre aujourd'hui même chez Bellefond[5], pour faire tirer Lundi. A moins d'un mot de vous, il préfère le Chine volant au Chine collé. Il n'a fait aucune objection au changement d'imprimerie. Alors, pour le récompenser, [p. 2] je lui ai fait comprendre l'honneur, pour sa maison, de posséder, exceptionnellement, un Whistler. Ce portrait est une merveille, la seule chose qui ait été jamais faite d'après moi, et je m'y souris.
La main, cher ami; et toute notre amitié aux dames[6]. Je coupe à leur intention ceci dans le journal.

J'ai la petite boîte aux punaises. Vu, rue de Rome 50 ou 48, chez un tapissier, quatre fauteuils empire de forme parfaite, acajou et velours d'Utrecht jaune[7].
