The etchings listed are Chelsea Wharf (K.89), The White Tower (K.150), Fanny Leyland (K.108), The Little Mast (K.185), Wool-Carders (K.221), Stables (K.225), Nocturne: Shipping (K.223), Price's Candle Works (K.154), The Penny Boat (K.67)?, Amsterdam from the Tolhuis (K.91), Nocturne: Salute (K.226), The Dam Wood (K.145), Dordrecht (K.242) or possibly Little Dordrecht (K.243), Islands (K.222), probably Fish-Shop, Venice (K.218), probably Shipping, Venice (K.229), Battersea: Dawn (K.155), Weary (K.92), Little Salute (K.220), Old Women (K.224), The Little Forge (K.147), The Velvet Dress (K.105) and The Smithy (K.240). The second page lists Little Salute (K.220), Dordrecht (K.242), Battersea Reach (K.90), Regent's Quadrant (K.239), Wych Street (K.159), The Boy (K.135), The Smithy (K.240) and Swan and Iris (K.241). This is a miscellaneous group of early and late unpublished etchings, including many rare etchings and drypoints. It includes some early, much sought after drypoints such as Weary (K.92), and recent etchings such as Dordrecht (K.242). Rarity was obviously a deciding factor in JW's pricing. The most expensive were three impressions of an atmospheric drypoint, Battersea: Dawn (K.155), at 10 gns each.The rare Wool-Carders (K.221), the touched proof of Fish-Shop, Venice (K.218), and the lovely drypoint of Whistler's son Charles Hanson, The Boy (K.135), were priced at 8 gns. A comparatively large order of six impressions of Price's Candle Works (K.154) cost £50.8.0 (eight guineas each).

Cecil Gordon Lawson (1851-1882), painter [more]. Swan and Iris (K.241), etched after an unfinished painting by Lawson, was published as a frontispiece in Gosse, Edmond W., Cecil Lawson: A Memoir, London, 1883. Lawson's widow Constance was the sister of Beatrix Whistler (1857-1896), née Beatrice Philip, artist [more].
