3.  Design for a wall sconce decorated with peacock tail feathers
JW completed work on Harmony in Blue and Gold: The Peacock Room (YMSM 178) in March 1877. There was no question of incorporating such wall sconces into the Peacock Room as originally designed by Thomas Jeckyll (1827-1881), architectural designer [more], and decorated by JW. This drawing has not previously been recorded, but a similar design is found in a sketchbook of 1885/1887 (Sketchbook (M.1001), p. 97).
