An early version of this subscription form is dated 1 January 1879 (J. A. Rose to C. A. Howell, #08858). However, the last date in the accompanying sheet of press-reviews (#11683) is 6 August 1879.

2.  Charles Augustus Howell

3.  ARRANGEMENT IN BROWN AND BLACK,
Arrangement in Brown and Black: Portrait of Miss Rosa Corder (YMSM 203). Almost identical subscription forms were printed for Arrangement in Grey and Black: Portrait of the Painter's Mother (YMSM 101) and Arrangement in Grey and Black, No. 2: Portrait of Thomas Carlyle (YMSM 137) (see #02412, #02785). JW received the completed engraving of the portrait of Corder when he was in Venice, and was a little disappointed with its quality (JW to Howell, 26 January 1880, #02860).

4.  RICHARD JOSEY
Richard Josey (1840-1906), reproductive engraver [more].
