"WUNDERLICH, NEW YORK"
944 MADISON SQR.
[scroll:] H. WUNDERLICH & CO.
H W & CO.
220 5TH AVE. N- Y-
14 March 1896
This letter, I need barely say, in it's imputed phraseology, is quite different to what I did write to him à propos of these
two subjects, which are not his best, but are among the most sketchy & uninteresting of his lithographs. It is not necessary to particularise further, the latter part of the letter answers itself.
He had a standing offer then from me of £1000/-/- each (his own price) for the full length which was quite complete. Why worry when he could have sold these? It is a curious problem.
2. Elizabeth R. and Joseph Pennell
Joseph Pennell (1860-1926) and his wife Elizabeth Robins Pennell (1855-1936), née Robins, JW's biographers.
This is a commentary by Kennedy on JW's letter of [14 March 1896], #09738. It was probably written at a later date, possibly when sending copies of his letters to E. R. And J. Pennell.
