Notes:

1.  [29 September 1887/December 1890]
Dated from final date noted on the account.

2.  Henry Graves and Co.
London firm of printsellers and dealers. This account records works including Arrangement in Grey and Black, No. 2: Portrait of Thomas Carlyle (YMSM 137) deposited with Graves in September 1878 as security for loans. The others included Arrangement in Grey and Black: Portrait of the Painter's Mother (YMSM 101) and Nocturne in Grey and Gold (YMSM 155). JW may also have deposited Nocturne: Black and Gold - The Fire Wheel (YMSM 169) and Nocturne in Black and Gold: The Falling Rocket (YMSM 170) with Graves. The loans on the latter two Nocturnes were not repaid for at least a decade, according to Graves' account as sent to JW in December 1888 (Graves to JW, #01827; see also A. Graves to JW, #01803, #01797, #01801. The account may be the 'list' mentioned in JW's letter to A. Graves, #10925.

3.  Picture of Miss Franklin
Arrangement in Black and Brown: The Fur Jacket (YMSM 181). JW promised to repay the money owed on the picture on 10 December 1890 (see JW to A. Graves, #10925).
