21 CHEYNE WALK,
CHELSEA.

Dear Mr. Robertson -

Do take this occasion, and send for Grau[3] - and tell him to make you at once one of my beautiful new frames for the Valparaiso[4] - Of exactly the same gold as that he has used for me lately - The old frame is altogether to rickety - & moreover it neither fitted (too large - Grau should have the "sight"[5] at least an eigth of an inch smaller all round) nor was it of the right colour - Your picture in the new frame will look five times as stately and beautiful -

[p. 2] Voila! - And now I am delighted to hear that the pictures have returned from their journeys in excellent condition - and I thank you again for all your amiable courtesy in the matter - If you would like to keep the two other pictures yet for a while, instead of being tired of them, I shall be glad to let you yet for a while with you keep them a little longer -

A bientot then -
Very sincerely

J McN Whistler
