1.  [1887?]
JW was elected President of the SBA in 1886 and took office in December. This letter may be referring to arrangements for Winter Exhibition, Society of British Artists, London, 1886-1887, or 64th Annual Exhibition, Royal Society of British Artists, London, 1887.

2.  Dudley Hardy
Dudley Hardy (1867-1922), painter and illustrator [more].

3.  PLfc
Published in Grasberger catalogue, Philadelphia, c. 1926 (cat. no. 45), and described as 'Autograph Letter Signed 1½ pp., 12 mm.' for sale at £32.50. 4.  Mr. L. Patmore [sic]
This is a mis-reading of A. F. or A. J. Le Patourel, painter, acting secretary of the SBA [more] (see #11293).
