This is the best in color of the lot you have sent me - and, unless you find other fairer still, will probably do -

It must however not be at all redish [sic] in color - rather greenish on the contrary -

The arrangement for the Portfolio[3] of course I meant to be in brown paper & Gold -

indeed the thing to do is [p. 2] to get from Huish[4] or little Brown[5] one of the portfolios I did for them first s Venice, First Series[6] -

Ours is Second Series[7] - and upon their portfolio, which is in brown paper and gold, we might with very little variation make ours in five minutes -

The letter for Paris[8] is being put into serious French - so that's all right -

The "Propositions[9]." are being revised and you shall have them tomorrow for the printer, or certainly the day after - I am perfectly wild with work - so don't venture to come near me!

The portfolio for A Set of twenty-six etchings of Venice, 1886 (the second 'Venice set') (K.196-216, 233-237). (excat 6), which was to be made of brown paper, like JW's catalogues and pamphlets.

A Set of twenty-six etchings of Venice, 1886 (the second 'Venice set') (K.196-216, 233-237). (excat 6). The first etchings were printed in April 1886 and the last plates cancelled in July 1887 (see MacDonald, Margaret F., Palaces in the Night Whistler in Venice, Aldershot, 2001, pp. 120-126).
