My dear Mr. Thomson -
Some four or five days ago - if not even longer back than that - I sent you a telegram[4] - Now I am beginning to wonder if you ever got it! -
I asked you to write me again exactly what you want me to do at the U. S. Consulate about the portfolios for Kennedy[5] - and I have received no answer: -
Your original letter[6] I have [p. 2] mislaid -
You had better then write to me at once what you wish - and I will manage it -
Meanwhile I have heard from Kennedy himself; (nothing about this) and he told me he was to leave New York in the steamer of May 4th. So I should think he is in Europe at this moment - or could be by the time you read this - However even then I believe he goes straight to Germany - and we should not see him before his return journey -
Doubtless you are posted upon all this - what news have you? London news I mean -
