110. Rue du Bac. Paris -
Dear Sir -
Albums - The photographs have come to me from the Rue Chaptal -
First - greatly disappointed at not seeing at least one Album entire - that I might judge of the complete effect - of Portfolio - cover - title - contents - motto & the whole get up -
Second - I don't understand at all the presence of the "Lange Leizen", which it was agreed [p. 2] should not appear -
and I cannot understand the absence of the "Bognor", which surely was one of the most important of the whole collection of pictures! -
Also I thought that the "Music Room" was not to be in, and I forget at this moment what was to take its place -
Do kindly write a line tomorrow that I may have your letter on Sunday, and tell me about all this -
Otherwise I think the photographs are really very very satisfactory and the proofs as far as I have seen in signing them charming! -
Sarasate - Of course I couldn't possibly do an etching - I would hate it! never could copy my own pictures!
If you ask Jacomb Hood I think he could lend you a photograph of it - I ought to have the negative some where but fear it is lost -
However you might think out some thing and tell me -
Now one thing - How many "Albums" are you going [to] present me with for myself? [p. 3] And meanwhile can't you post me over one tomorrow? -

4. Rue Chaptal
The Paris branch of Goupil's. The reference is to an album of photographs of paintings, mostly those shown at Nocturnes, Marines and Chevalet Pieces, Boussod, Valadon & Cie, Goupil Gallery, London, 1892, published in 1893 by Goupil and Co. (Boussod, Valadon & Cie). JW had to sign the mounts with his butterfly and signature, and return them to London.
