Notes:
1. 30 November [1875?]
Dated by comparison with writing and signature of other menus (see #06855).
2. Potage
The menu, written in French, comprised a fish soup, fillets of sole with a caper sauce, truffle dumplings, mutton cutlets, chicken in jelly, wild duck, deep-fried oyster savouries, mince pies, cheese fondue and coffee.
3. Mr & Mrs [Jameson? ...Crabb
The guest list is not entirely clear. It may have included Joseph Williams Comyns Carr (1849-1916), art critic and theatre manager [more]. The elaborate menu suggests this was a meal targetted at prospective clients, probably Mr and Mrs Jameson and Captain Crabb.
