Dear Sir!
As the time is now approaching, when we ought to prepare the framing and other arrangements for the exhibition[2] of your drawings, so as to have them ready by the 8th of October, we beg leave to ask you to send us the sizes of the Various dwgs [drawings] and a sketch of the style of frame.
It will take about 3 weeks to get the frames ready and they should be taken in hand without delay.
For the arrangement and hanging of the exhibition room, we trust to have your personal advise[3] [sic], but in case you should be prevented to come as early, we beg you to send us full instructions.
Our room is 21 x 23 x 11 feet with a sky light 12 x 14. it is now hung with a dark [p. 2] blueish [sic] green damask and fitted with ebony cornice & furniture. The room looks very well as it is, and the background sets off the drawings to good advantage, but as we desire to make this exhibition the chief event of this years art season in New York we shall gladly change it according to your advice.
If possible send us samples of the stuff or a color sketch for our guidance. A design for the catalogue and invitation cards would also be desirable.
We want the following etchings, which please mail to us at once, we shall remit the amount on receipt of the bill,
2 Windsor Castle[4] - dry point [tick] 2 " " etching [tick] 2 Charing cross bridge 1 Grand place Brussels [tick] 1 Court yard " [tick] 1 The palace " 1 Fruit shop Chelsea [tick] 1 Littlefruit shopsweet shop.
When you send the drawings do not fail to send a full assortment of your etchings they can be shown together - and many sales be made -
Hoping to have the pleasure to see You in New York very soon
we remain
Most respectfully
Hermann Wunderlich & Co
