Dated by comparison of butterfly signature, writing and paper with other menus, and confirmed by the account from John S. Charles (fl. 1876-1887), fishmonger in Pimlico, London [more], for cod bought on 29 November 1877 (#08848).
The menu, written in French, consisted of soup 'al Puchero' (a Spanish 'pot au feu'), cod, roast mutton, stewed pears and coffee.
