1.  18 February [1876?]
Dated 1876 by comparison of writing and paper with other menus (see #06868, #06883). However, Alan Summerly Cole (1846-1934), textile expert and museum official [more], recorded a dinner given by JW on 18 February 1878, so the menu may date from later (Pennell, Elizabeth Robins, and Joseph Pennell, The Life of James McNeill Whistler, 2 vols, London and Philadelphia, 1908, vol. I, p. 189).

2.  ADS
#06908, #06909 and #06911 are on similar paper.

3.  Potage
The menu, written in French, consisted of 'Palestine' soup (a vegetable soup), fried sole, mutton cutlets, little grilled steaks, chicken with watercress, cream tarts, salad and coffee. This is a fairly elaborate menu, indicating that it was for guests, not just the family.
