Notes:

1.  31 July [1876]
JW's account with John S. Charles (fl. 1876-1887), fishmonger in Pimlico, London [more], included a bill for mullet on 31 July 1876 (#08848).

2.  Potage
The elaborate menu, written in French, consisted of soup with forcemeat balls, red mullet, kidney rissoles, small oven-baked [beef] filets, lamb cutlets with golden purée (probably carrot or turnip), roast chicken, grilled tomatoes, stewed greengages, pastries, icecream, and coffee.
