2. ADS
Written in ink on wove paper with watermark of a crest and `Antique / Parchment / Note Paper'. The same paper is found on #06882, #06883, #06888, #06889, #06890 and #06892.
3. Potage
The menu, written in French, consisted of potato and leek soup (literally, good housewife's soup), salmon with Irish sauce, whiting fish-cakes (a speciality of Lindsey Houses), mutton cutlets with cucumber, duckling, salad, peas, cream tartlets, and coffee. Several items on the menu are similar to those of 9 March (#06917).
4. Lindsey Houses
JW lived in 2 Lindsey Row from 1863-1878, and often called it 'Lindsey Houses'.
