UPTON & BRITTON,
SOLICITORS.

51, LINCOLN'S INN FIELDS,
LONDON, W. C.

12th. July 1889.

Dear Sir,

We have received your amusing letter[2] of yesterday in reply to our letter[3] of the 5th instant and will take an early opportunity of seeing our Client[4] upon its contents after which we shall probably ask you to favour us with an interview when we trust that the matter may be amicably arranged as you suggest, and without its being necessary to refer to Mr. George Lewis[5] whom we know very well and respect very much.

Kindly take note that our firm is "Upton and Britton," not "Upperton & Briton" as you address us. Mr. Upperton[6] [p. 2] was formerly Solicitor to Sir Henry Meux but is not now.

Yours faithfully -

Upton & Britton

J. McNeill Whistler Esq:
The Tower House
28. Tite Street
