Dear Sir,
We beg to enclose receipt for your cheque received this morning for our account for which we are much obliged.
We also have pleasure in sending you a cheque for the 'Note Rouge[2]' which kindly acknowledge at convenience. If you are to be away any length of time perhaps [p. 2] you will leave us your bankers[3] address so that we may pay in any other amount to your account when we are fortunate enough to sell a picture for you.
We have further to thank you for the list of owners of pictures for the exhibition which will have our immediate attention. We should like to include some of the portraits if possible & chiefly the one of Miss Alexander[4], the one of Lady [p. 3] Archibald Campbell[5]; & if you could consent to show the portrait of Lady Colin Campbell[6] in white we should be specially pleased
