Copy of rough minutes, of the monthly meeting held September 5th 1887
The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed.
A letter from Mr Holmes[2] was read, enclosing letters from Mr Gadsby[3] and Mr Percy Thomas[4], which were also read, (these related to the proposed exhibition of a selection of the works by the late Mr F. H. Potter[5] in the Winter Exhibition). - A letter was read from Mr J. D. Watson[6], also one from Mr Boot[7]. - The A copy of the Acting Secretary's official[8] reply to Mr Carters[9] letter of resignation was read.
The business of the meeting was then proceeded with, when it was proposed by Mr A Hill[10] seconded by Mr Girardot[11], that a selection of the works of the late Mr F. H. Potter be obtained for the next Winter Exhibition[;] carried unanimously.
The matter of receiving the authorisation of the Society to hold the Exhibition postponed from last Spring, of the Presidents works, was then considered, [p. 2] when it was proposed by Mr. Girardot seconded by Mr Roussel[12], that the authorisation of the Society to hold the Exhibition postponed from last Spring of the Presidents works be received, this was carried.
A financial Statement was laid before the meeting by the Treasurer[13]
The letters[14] from the Secretary of State[15] were re-read by the President, together with his reply, - A letter from the Home Secretary[16] granting the Title of Royal was read, also the Presidents reply.
The President then read a copy of the memorial to Her Majesty[17], after which the memorial was inspected by the members
