3rd Jan 1892. '(1893)[3]'

Dear Mr Whistler,

Many thanks for your letter & Chicago Circular[4] to hand all right.

The "fur jacket[5]" came to hand today only & seems to be all right. I see it is a good bit smaller than either of the other two but I think I like it most.

Yes there are some of my questions still unanswered.

Do you think I might show the "Leyland Caricature[6]" & do you think Hood[7] would lend it? I would show the four pictures[8] here it could only be for a week [p. 2] now but some of the pictures may stay in America.

This is urgent.

Also I asked you about the fur jacket if you were willing to take £100 - & let me be the supreme owner?

If you have time let me have a word from you.

Also let me know how long you purpose staying in London -

Yours faithfully

Alex Reid.

Every good wish for this & the many years yet to come for yourself & Mrs Whistler[9].
