Her Royal Highness the Princess Louise has graciously expressed her wish that I should apprise you of the intended presentation to Her Majesty the Queen, of a memorial on behalf of the Society of British Artists, signed by me as their President -
I therefore did myself the honour of calling upon you once or twice - but

4. Her Majesty the Queen, of a memorial
Victoria (1819-1901), Queen of Great Britain [more]. On the occasion of her Jubilee, JW designed a Memorial congratulating her on behalf of the SBA (see (a) Monogram 'VR'; (b) Address to Queen Victoria; (c) Royal Coat of Arms (M.1132)). As a result, the SBA was granted a Royal Charter.
