BIBLE-HOTEL.
AMSTERDAM.

LIFT.
ELECTRISCH LICHT.

AMSTERDAM,

Sunday. 189
'Aug. 20. 99.'

Major -

This experiment has failed! -

I bring away with me nothing!! - though in looking for it I have very nearly made myself ill again - -

And I have lost lots of things. -

Among them I am now missing Brenzels new black pair - Did I leave them at Pourville? Wire to Garlants[4] yes or no -

You know I believe they bag every thing at that hotel! -

I am getting back to you again - You may expect me by tuesday or Wednesday -

Affectionately

the General -
