Dear Mr Whistler

Sir Henry[2] writes that I may lend you the picture[3]; & I do hope you will impress on the people who fetch it away not [p. 2] to damage the walls or the frame of the picture, as last time the frame of the picture was so damaged that I had to have it reframed, I mean [p. 3] the pink picture[4].

I fear you will never have the pleasure of painting me again now that you are not in England, as when in Paris I spend all my time at [p. 4] the dressmakers.

I shall come over at the beginning of the New Year for some new frocks; & shall then look you up.
