Having had a large quantity of fruit sent from Theobalds[4] I send you a portion of it, please do not[5] [p. 2] thank me as I have not been unselfish in sending it to you[.] I was delighted to see you this afternoon and regret I am not inn the mood to be painted as [p. 3] a Spanish female of the 15th Century[6]

She had posed, several years earlier, in contemporary dress for three portraits (YMSM 228-230) including Harmony in Pink and Grey: Portrait of Lady Meux (YMSM 229). Although it is clear various possibilities were discussed, she did not pose for JW again.
