Dear Sir,
We are in receipt of your telegram. - Your wishes as regards the return of your works shall be observed, but they cannot be packed until our men are free from the labour of hanging. - The portrait of Carlisle[4] [sic] we shall of course deliver to the place whence it was obtained. - I am must say that your etchings[5] were hung together as a centre group in the black and white rooms: your Nocturne[6] in a beautiful place on the line, and your portrait of Carlisle contiguous. -

William Agnew (1825-1910), art dealer [more]. It is possible that the author is George William Agnew (1852-1941), art dealer[more], as he was Hon. Secretary of the Manchester Committee; it may even be that G. W. Agnew wrote the letter, which was then signed by W. Agnew (the signature on the letter may be in a different hand from the rest).
